Robert Proctor (8GGF) b. 1624. Immigrated before 1643. m. Jane Hildreth (8GGM) ~ Moved to the boonies, Chelmsford, with his father-in-law. He and Jane had twelve children.

John Heywood (8GGF) b. 1634. Immigrated before 1656. m. Sarah Symonds (8GGM) of Woburn. ~ Constable who lost the squaws

Thomas Payne III (10GGF) b.1612. Immigrated in 1637. m. Rebecca Ware (10GGM) ~ Left his mother in the lurch in Salem and moved to Dedham

William Knight (9GGF) b. ca 1600. Immigrated before 1643. m. Elizabeth (9GGM) (widow of William Ballard). ~ involved in petty legal squabbles, unfair will distribution

William Eaton (9GGF) b. 1607. Immigrated 1637. m. Martha Jenkin (9GGM). ~ Came from Dover, England

George Davis (9GGF) b. 1616. Immigrated before 1643. m. Sarah Clarke (9GGM). ~ Did not die at Cape Fear


8) WOBURN


Richardson brothers ~ Exekiel (10U) Samuel (10U) Thomas (9GGF). Immigrated 1630 and ca. 1635. Thomas m. Mary (last name unknown) (9GGM). ~ Three of the eight founders of Woburn, rich and powerful family

William Symonds (9GGF) b 1612. Immigrated ca. 1630. m. Judith Phippin (9GGM). ~ went from rags to riches by forging relationships with powerful families

Wyman brothers ~ Francis (1C9X) John (1C9X). Probably immigrated ca. 1635 with their Richardson uncles. ~ Became a powerful and prolific family in New England, one of them is probably our grandfather

William Symonds ~ Started from common stock but made powerful alliances with the movers and shakers of Woburn.


9) NEWBURY


Henry Phelps ~ Tame member of the Phelps family. Moved from Salem to get away from his fanatical religious relatives.

William Ballard ~ One of the first settlers of Newbury. Moved to Andover.

Robert Adams ~ Uncharitable and argumentative, had many altercations with neighbors and at one point was "set by the heels in the stocks."


10) HAMPTON


Philemon Dalton ~ Came with his brother, the Reverend Timothy Dalton. Moved far north to Hampton which would eventually be New Hampshire


11) HAVERHILL


Henry Palmer ~ Outstanding citizen until he became embroiled in the heifer controversy.
